tree treasures

I love our Christmas tree.Every decoration has a special meaning. As I pull each ornament out of the box I can tell you where each one came from. I have never bought an ornament for myself they are all gifts or have been handed down to me.
Some favorites...
I love Otters. And this one has the added oddity of an odd friend.
Ian developed this habit of turning all my otters (a scattered collection throughout the house) upside down when he came to visit.
This little ornament was never forgotten.
Now when I put it up I think of Ian fondly and send him out my love and prayers.

Little Sammy.
Not so little anymore.
A wonderful lady now.

This little beauty was made for me by a family whose son I supported in Elmira.
I treasure my time with EDACL and the clients and families I was privileged to support.
Sweet sweet Brubachers.

A festive Wookie needs no further explanation.

My Mom gave this to me years ago.
The Girl thinks it is for her, and she is not wrong.
Family is really the heart of Christmas.
Even if you can not be all together.

We were just thinking of you the other day when we decorated our tree. Two of our favourite ornaments are ones you painted, both on the occasion of a "new home". I guess we moved a lot during the first few years of marriage!

Sadly Mr. Brubacher passed away about 2 weeks ago.
Lovely to have such sentiments.
