The Boy

So things started happening 3:30am Friday morning.
When I get up to take The Girl to school my waters had started to break.
Once the waters have broken they generally like to get things moving along because it breaks a protective seal for the baby.
We met our midwife at the hospital @ noon.
To get the contractions really going they started me on an IV of oxytocin at 3:30.
By 7:30pm the contractions were harsh and I was only 2cm (out of 10) dilated...GAH.
They upped the oxytocin and when I was only 4cm two hours later I choose to get an epidural which came 2hours later. So at 11:00 with a catheter securely in my spine taking 95% of the pain away we let the contractions do their work.
By 3:30am I was ready for some serious pushing.
At 3:58am The Boy popped into the world.
And when I say popped they really do just kind of pop out at the end...I watched the whole thing VERY COOL.
We were home by 3:00pm Saturday introducing the Girl to the Boy.
All is well.
Life is good.

Chris waits in our very nice room.
I wait for the IV to get started.
Around 2:30 Friday afternoon.
As you may have guessed the contractions were pretty mild at this point.
Around 9:30 pm I was attempting to rip poor Chris' arm off as I "breathed through" the contractions waiting for the epidural.
Our fantastic midwife.

Our big little boy.
