It is true - kids do love the Sophie!
George adores his. I call it his "chew toy" - because it is a really expensive dog chew toy.
My parent's dog tried to steal it from him and when we hid it in Daefyd's backpack, the dog sat next to the backpack and cried... we had to hide the backpack, too!
My friend's little dude Dominic has a Sophie that he seems rather attached to as well. His mom told me that the package said something about the rubber is supposed to feel like "mama's skin" (or something equally as creepy - I don't remember exactly).
